At Family Room, we make space for something different: unstructured play.
We create an environment worth exploring. Kids decide what to do with it.
They build something. Abandon it. Invent a game. Negotiate the rules. Solve a disagreement. Follow someone else's idea. Change their minds. Try again.
That freedom is the point.
Why unstructured play?
Play isn't a break from learning.
When children direct their own play, they get opportunities to practice the skills that don't always come with instructions.
Planning. Problem-solving. Decision-making. Flexibility. Collaboration. Creativity. Independence.
They decide what they're making. They figure out what happens when it doesn't work. They negotiate with other kids. They change the plan.
Nobody has to turn it into a lesson.
Kids are already doing the work.

You don't have to entertain your kids every minute.
