After school should feel different from school.
We pick them up from school, bring them to Family Room, and give them a change of scenery for the rest of the afternoon.
After a full day of classrooms, schedules and instructions, kids get room to decompress, move, play, make things, see friends and settle into the rest of their day.

We think there is real value in getting kids out of the school building when the school day is over.
They have already spent hours in classrooms, hallways, structured routines and scheduled transitions.
Family Room gives the afternoon a different setting — somewhere they can take off the backpack, move around, see friends and decide what they feel like doing next.
And parents don't have to manage the transition.
Family Room staff meet children at participating schools and chaperone them to Family Room.
We use check-in procedures throughout the transition so children are accounted for from school dismissal through arrival.
You pick them up from us at the end of the afternoon.

What happens next?
Not every minute needs another lesson.
Kids have already had a structured day. The afternoon can loosen up.
Unstructured play
Kids have room to decide what they want to do and where their play goes next.
Movement
Space to move, run and reset after sitting through a school day.
Quiet time
Drawing, reading, building or simply taking a break.
Homework support
When homework needs to happen, there's space and support for that too.
Activities when they want them
Art, games, STEM, sports, cooking, building and other workshops can be part of the afternoon.
Other kids
Friends, conversations, invented games, disagreements, collaboration and all the other things that happen when kids spend time together.

Siblings
Different kids can have different schedules.
If siblings need different After School schedules, add each child separately for the days they need.
The cart may initially show full price for both children.
Our team will review eligible sibling enrollments and apply the applicable multi-child adjustment to the sibling with the shorter schedule before the first recurring billing cycle.

No-school days
School's closed. Family Room isn't necessarily.
Family Room also hosts Day-Off Camps during eligible school closures and scheduled days off.
Active After School families currently receive 15% off eligible standalone Day-Off Camps during the academic year.
Program discounts do not stack. Families eligible for multiple discounts receive a maximum 15% discount on standalone camp blocks under the current policy.

Before you enroll.
What ages can enroll?
The 2026–2027 After School program is designed for children in PreK3 through 5th grade.
What time does After School run?
The standard afternoon program runs from 3:00–6:00 PM.
Do you pick children up from school?
Yes. Family Room staff meet children at participating schools and chaperone them to Family Room.
Why bring them to Family Room instead of staying at school?
We want the afternoon to feel different from the school day. Leaving the school environment gives children a physical transition into a less structured part of their day.
Can I choose fewer than five days?
Yes. Families can enroll for one, two, three, four or five recurring days each week.
What if my children need different schedules?
Enroll each child separately for the schedule they need. Eligible sibling adjustments are reviewed by the Family Room team before recurring billing begins.
Is every afternoon scheduled with classes?
No. Activities and workshops may be offered, but Family Room intentionally leaves room for unstructured play, movement, downtime and child-led choices.
After School enrollment is subject to current Family Room program, billing, cancellation and conduct policies.
