Kimberly Brown

Founder & Executive Director

Kimberly brings over 20 years of experience building teams and educational environments. A proud mom of two boys and sister to five siblings, she built Family Room to combine professional rigor with the warmth of a community home.

Professional Background:

Non-Profit Founder: Built and ran Centrally Human (innovation & entrepreneurship for middle schoolers) and TecHive (empowering young women in tech careers).
Creator: Developed the “Human-Centric Method of Management,” now adopted into three university curriculums.
Education: Undergraduate and Master degree from Northwestern University Medill School with minors/focus in Psychology and Sociology.
Leadership: Adjunct professor, executive educator, National keynote speaker, certified executive coach, and active mentor to upcoming leaders with a focus on change management, entrepreneurship, business/marketing communications.

Our Staff Standards

We are a Licensed Childcare Facility. Our team is held to the highest standard.

W-2 Employees: We do not use contractors. Our team is dedicated and consistent.
Background Checked: Comprehensive federal background checks for all staff.
Licensed & Certified: All counselors are licensed childcare providers and CPR/First Aid Certified.

Health & Policies

“Sick=Home” Policy: Strict adherence to keeping our community healthy.
Cleanliness: Continuous disinfection, “Dirty Toy Receptacles,” and nightly professional deep cleaning.
Late Policy: $1/minute late fee after scheduled pickup to respect our staff’s time.
