As another fantastic week came to a close, our campers continued to show us that summer fun can be found everywhere—from neighborhood parks to creative projects and exciting experiences right here at Family Room Chicago.

This week was filled with movement and imagination. Campers challenged themselves on obstacle courses, played energetic games of tag, soccer, basketball, Sharks and Minnows, and Mr. Fox, and explored several neighborhood parks. Every adventure gave campers the opportunity to stay active, build confidence, and strengthen friendships while enjoying Chicago’s beautiful summer weather.

One of the week’s biggest highlights was preparing for Skyline Theatre Camp’s performance of The Wizard of Oz, which took place right here in our building. Before the show, our campers worked together to create their very own *Wizard of Oz*-themed concession stand. They decorated the space, made themed signs, and used their imaginations to transform our camp into a magical theater experience. The project was a wonderful opportunity for campers to collaborate, be creative, and build excitement as they celebrated the performers.

When it was showtime, campers had the chance to watch The Wizard of Oz alongside their fellow campers. Seeing the production come to life just steps away made the experience even more special, and the colorful characters, memorable songs, and inspiring story sparked wonderful conversations long after the final bow.
